Be extra cautious tonight for Trick-or-Treaters!

GasBuddy Blog -- When kids are trick-or-treating tonight the most important thing to remember is that they're excited, unpredictable and may be sampling some candy along the way to fuel their travels... so let's be careful!

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reminds us to be especially careful between 4 and 8 p.m., when most severe vehicle/young pedestrian collisions happen. And, they offer the following advice to help ensure vehicular and pedestrian safety for everyone:

FOR ALL DRIVERS...
Drive slowly, and don't pass stopped vehicles. The driver might be dropping off children.

Park your mobile phone. Avoid distractions by waiting until you've stopped to call, text, or surf.

Good driving tips, NO texting and be cautious at all times – driving or not! Make sure to use sidewalks when available, cross the streets at the proper areas and LOOK Both Ways before crossing! NO Trick-or-Treating on the highways or with the NHTSA. ALL THE TRICK AND TREATERS WENT HOME! No more are around here anymore. Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII!

Every Halloween there's at least a dozen SUVs/minivans parked in my subdivision that I've never seen before with kids and parent(s) piling in and out - and they change regularly.
